High depth of field microscopic imaging using an interferometric camera.
We describe the design of a microscope combining rotational shear interferometer (RSI)-based coherence imaging with an objective lens to simultaneously obtain high numerical aperture and high depth of field imaging. We present experimental results showing the operation of this instrument.
متن کاملBarcode Imaging Using a Light Field Camera
We present a method to capture sharp barcode images, using a microlens-based light field camera. Relative to standard barcode readers, which typically use fixed-focus cameras in order to reduce mechanical complexity and shutter lag, employing a light field camera significantly increases the scanner’s depth of field. However, the increased computational complexity that comes with software-based ...
متن کاملTerahertz imaging using an interferometric array
Most methods of imaging in the terahertz ~THz! spectral region utilize either pulsed-laser sources or require the THz generation and detection sources to be phase coherent. The application of interferometric imaging to the THz range is described. Interferometric imaging offers considerable advantages in this regard due to its ability to image with only a handful of detector elements, image many...
متن کاملBreathing Analysis Using Thermal and Depth Imaging Camera Video Records
The paper is devoted to the study of facial region temperature changes using a simple thermal imaging camera and to the comparison of their time evolution with the pectoral area motion recorded by the MS Kinect depth sensor. The goal of this research is to propose the use of video records as alternative diagnostics of breathing disorders allowing their analysis in the home environment as well. ...
متن کاملExtended depth of field imaging for high speed cell analysis.
BACKGROUND Fluoresence microscopy is an extremely useful tool to analyze the intensity, location and movement of fluorescently tagged molecules on, within or between cells. However, the technique suffers from slow image acquisition rates and limited depth of field. Confocal microscopy addresses the depth of field issue via "optical sectioning and reconstruction", but only by further reducing th...
